AT&T Aspire Contribution Fuels Boosterville High School Internship Program

ZIONSVILLE, Ind., Nov. 8, 2017 – AT&T Indiana today announced that the Boosterville Foundation in Zionsville is the recipient of a $5,000 AT&T Aspire contribution.

The foundation will utilize its contribution to help fund the competitive Boosterville Teen Entrepreneur Program (B-TEP), a one-semester internship opportunity for Indiana high school juniors and seniors to gain real world, business experience with a technology company.

“Entrepreneurship education benefits students from all socio-economic backgrounds because any student can be an at-risk youth,” said Zionsville Mayor Tim Haak.  “It’s wonderful to have innovators like AT&T and the Boosterville Foundation in our community, as they are both working to boost students’ personal and career growth.”

Among the skills that B-TEP entrepreneurs hone during their internships are time management, meeting expectations, problem solving, risk-taking, thinking creatively and persistence.

“Learning these educational and life skills encourages teens to think bigger than themselves, grooming them to become actively engaged members of their own community and society as a whole,” said Boosterville Foundation Executive Director Ginny Hacker. “We’re so grateful that AT&T is supporting our efforts to empower students to make goals for their next phase in life.”

AT&T’s signature philanthropic initiative, AT&T Aspire drives innovation in education – through technology, social innovation and relationships – to ensure all students have the skills they need to succeed in school and beyond.

“Education is the best investment we can make to ensure our new hires start day one with the skills they need,” said AT&T Indiana President Bill Soards.  “Through AT&T Aspire, we aim to help all students make their biggest dreams a reality.”
